A:19 Youth Group

A19 is Priory's Youth Group. We were named by some "old" members after an inspiring visit to Easter People one year.
Have a look at the first few verses of - A:19 -  and you will see where they are coming from.

There are about 20 young people who currently meet every other Sunday evening between 6:30pm and 8:30pm at Priory. You can join A:19 if you are in year 5 upwards. We enjoy a mix of social and constructive activities and Worship. We love going to concerts led by our favourite Christian bands and this year we went to the  Greenbelt Festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend and had the best time!!

This is what A:19 Have to say!

"When we do the programme we try to do fun but constructive activities, like being lost on an island and picking 5 material things and 5 abstract things- this became difficult (arguing!)"
Charlotte.

"We have lots of fun playing pool and table tennis"
Emily.

"We have a very nice team of young people - theyr'e happy to welcome new members"
Harry.

"We do random things but we are like a family"
Kirsty.

"We went to Greenbelt this year and had na good time. We listened to lots of bands and bought sweets, light sabres and funny hats!"
Tom.

" I like playing teddybear basketball and Go-carts. We are going to Greenbelt 2009 - I think when we go we will have even more fun than last year!"
Callum.

Our Easter Eggstravaganza!

For a few days in the Easter Holidays A:19 mades St Lukes our home and took part in Easter activities leading up to Revelation (Our Christian Rock Concert ). We played games, did some drama, made tie die T shirts and put together a radio show. We interviewed out favourite band Myspoon and recorde it for our radio show.We finished our session with a quiet, contemplative act of worship - most unlike us!- and then had a sponsored sleepover! We "slept" between the pews and raised over  £160 for action for children.

                                        Greenbelt 08

In August over 20 young people from A:19 and their leaders braved the festival scene and joined tens of thousands of other Christians at Cheltenham racecourse for the greenbelt Festival.
Our camping skills are very impressive as a lot of our members are in the boys Brigade and Guides so we lived in relative comfort and ate some fantastic meals!. Our days were spent absorbing the Festival spirit, going to talks and music gigs, doing crafts and meeting some very cool Christians. In the evenings we went to see our favourite bands and listen to new ones.
On the Sunday all the visitors joined together for a masive Communion which was awesome.
We had a brilliant time - laughed a lot and came home the best of friends. Roll on 2009!!.

                                                     Xchange

In November we joined Wooton and Stewartby churches for a Saturday Night with our favourite band - Myspoon!! Highlights were being in the moshpit and crowd surfing! The next morning we joined them again for Worship - a brilliant experience.
If you would to come and join us ring the Church office to find out the date of our next meeting and just turn up.

Acts 19 (New International Version)

Paul in Ephesus
(1) While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived
at Ephesus. There he found some disciples.
(2) and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?"
They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."

(3) So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?"  "John's baptism,"  they replied.

(4) Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe
in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus."
(5) On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

(6) When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke
      in tongues and prophesied.
(7) There were about twelve men in all.  Etc, Etc  ........................ Read on in your own
NIV Bible or click here for an on-line version.
